You can now sample the audio-visual delights of iOS space-shooter Beat Hazard Ultra for free.
Dreamed up by the folks at Cold Beam Games, this experimental sci-fi title has made a name for itself by combining two things that everyone loves: music and blowing stuff up.
Rather than limiting play to a selection of pre-designed levels, this twin-stick shooter generates unique stages by sampling music tracks and translating them into on-screen alien assaults.
Capable of converting music from your iTunes collection or radio apps into levels, Beat Hazard Ultra will in theory produce a never-ending supply of new stages - provided bands and DJs keep pumping out bangers, of course.
The formula has proved so popular with iPhone and iPad critics that the game managed to blast its way onto Qi's Top 10 iPad games of February hit parade.
If you fancy rocking out in a hail of plasma, you can download the Universal app Beat Hazard Ultra from the App Store for free today.
